The publican in 1841 was Richard Carrington. In
the Derby Mercury of 19th May 1847 he is recorded as being committed to
prison for 14 days or pay £1 7s for causing cruelty to a domestic cock fowl
by causing it to fight with another presumably as landlord of the Bird in
Hand. |
