The Bell & Castle was situated at 86-92 Burton
Road.
Built in 1801, it was run from 1851
to 180 by John Allen. It was owned by Offilers brewery in the 1930s, and
then Bass. A grade II listed building, it closed in May 2012 and is due to
be converted into an Indian restaurant. |

Now reopened as a real ale pub. |
