The Angel Inn was situated on Duke Street. This pub was demolished to make way for the Whittington Moor by-pass. My grandparents ran the pub and retired from it about 1959-1960.Their names were Norman and Mary Windle. It was a real family concern at weekends. One of my uncles played the piano, another worked behind the bar  alongside my mother.
