building details: |
Public house. Circa C17. Painted rubblestone with painted slate hanging on
first floor of front. Bitumous coated slate roof with gable ends with
rendered rubblestone stacks in gable ends. Single depth plan extended to
double depth with further rear projecting wing on north. 2 storeys, regular
3 window front. Ground floor with two 2-light casements without glazing bars
flanking rubblestone
porch with gabled slate roof and 6-panelled door within. 3-light casement
without glazing bars to right of porch. Above 3 circa mid C19 2-light
casements with glazing bars. Single storey extension on right-hand gable end
and mounting block in front of left-hand gable end. Rear projecting wing
with painted slate-hung first floor. C19 and C20 casements.
Interior; left-hand front room with chamfered ceiling beams. Later granite
lintel to fireplace on right-hand gable end. Upper floors not inspected. |
