Red Fox

The Red Fox was situated at Four Lane
Ends. This pub became an Indian restaurant upon closure. |
|
The Red Fox replaced the original pub that stood
here called The Crown. Think original part of pub stands on A51 Road which
goes to Chester and was extended at rear. What is a fact is The Crown was run
by Jack Young & served Youngers Scotch Bitter direct from the barrel. Mr
Young would pour beer into a jug & then walk round the room topping up each
glass for a few pence more. I was also told that there were seats where the
servery was, little bit like Coopers Tavern,Burton Upon Trent perhaps,& i
believe there was a piano & a further room. Also pub only had Six Day
Licence, closed Sundays not for Religous purposes, but to save money ! |
