My pals and I used to go there nearly every Saturday in the early 1970's.
They served Tartan Bitter which (probably) had an OG of 3.2 or thereabouts -
minging stuff but pre CAMRA days! I once turned up mid-week on my Triumph
650 in the days of the home internationals. A game was being played at
Wrexham and amongst the visitors were Billy Bremner, Jack Carlton and Gary
Sprake of Leeds United.
The local hard lads used the rear of the pub and us wimps used to give them
a wide berth. |
