Caledonia Inn

The Caledonia Inn was situated at 68 Market Street. Upon closure, this was used as John H Straceys Sports Bar, which in turn has also closed.

This was my dad's first pub In about 1953. His name was Jack Johnson. I remember the toilet being raised and as a wee child I had to climb up to sit on it. The rag and bone man used to come down the back entry with his horse and cart. He used to give us a gold fish in a polythene bag.
