1867 Macclesfield Brewery

One share of  in this Cheshire brewery, dated 1st August 1867. Black and white certificate, number 124, in perfect condition with white embossed seal. Original signatures of Thomas Smith and John Smith, directors and George Clarke, company secretary. Issued to Charles Edward Procter, solicitor, of Ashfield House, nr. Macclesfield, Cheshire.
 

1890s Robert Deuchar

Robert Deuchar Ltd, a Newcastle based brewer, which was acquired by Newcastle Breweries in 1953. Unissued certificate no. 103. Blue and white with ornate left hand scrollwork.

1890 Z Smith

50 Mortgage debenture certificate no. 604 (of 2,000) dated 28th February 1899, in the name of Miss Alice WIlliams of Wilne Lane, Shardlow, Derbyshire. Actual handwritten signatures of two directors including the founder Z Smith, and the Company Secretary John Herrod. The names of Sir Thomas Roe and Abraham Woodiwiss are also printed on the certificate. The back of the certificate records the transfer of the document to George Herrod of Shardlow on 9th May 1908.

1921 San Francisco Breweries

San Francisco Breweries Ltd, incorporated in 1890, went into voluntary liquidation in 1922 due to the effects of Prohibition.Certificate no. 404 for 10 of 6% debenture stock. Ornate blue border with imprint of company seal.

1950 Tamplins

Tamplin's Licensed Properties, a Brighton-based brewery. The company was formed in July 1926 to acquire the Kidd & Hotblack Brewery of Brighton for 300,000. Acquired by Watney, Combe, Reid & Co. in 1953.Certificate no. 1257 for 567 of 4.5% debenture stock. Ornate red border with imprint of company seal and ornate left hand scrollwork.

1955 Ind Coope

Ind Coope & Allsopp, a brewing company formed by the merger in 1934 of Ind Coope & Co and Samuel Allsopp & Sons.Green certificate no. 2533 for 27 of 5% debenture stock. Ornate left hand scrollwork with imprint of company seal. Issued to Lt. Col. Victor Buller Turner, VC of Ditchingham Cottage, Ditchingham, Norfolk.

1956 Clarksons Old Brewery

Clarkson's Old Brewery, a Barnsley-based brewer, which was acquired by Tennant Brothers in 1956. Certificate no. 12216 for 15 shares. Ornate left hand scrollwork with imprint of company seal.
 

1963 Greenall Whitley

Certificate number 6346, dated 8th July 1963 for 12 6.5% cumulative preference shares in this brewery company. Issued to Philip Arnold Moritz. Red and white certificate with imprint of company seal.
