The Peacock was situated at 1-3 Lake Street. This grade-II listed pub was present by 1690. It closed in 1979 and is now used as a Thai restaurant..
 
Listed building details:
Cl6 or early C17. Timber frame, steeply pitched old tiled roof with gable, plaster infilling and some early cl9 brickwork to front. 2 storeys, sash windows.
